Breaking: Google mobile friendly algorithm is Bigger Than Panda Or Penguin
One of the members of Webmaster Trends team Google’s Zineb Ait Bahajji, was quoted as saying at SMX Munich on March 17, 2015 that the upcoming Google mobile friendly algorithm will launch on 21st of April, 2015 and it will leave its marks and impact more on Google’s search results than the Google Panda update and the Google Penguin update ever did.
Google did say that before even when they announced the mobile-friendly ranking algorithm that this particular algorithm will surely have a “significant impact” especially on the mobile search results. This is major point, it is only reflecting search results over mobile and it will create more of an impact than Panda or Penguin.
Question that arises first, what did Webmaster Trends team member meant by that? Is she trying to warn search engine world that impact can be of about 40% of mobile search queries, whereas Penguin impacted closer to 4% of all English queries and Panda was about 12% of global queries across both mobile and desktop? Or is she trying to warn search engine lads that impact could be larger and it could affect both desktop and mobile search queries?
Normally, mobile-friendly algorithm can only reflect on results of mobile, so therefore we should assume that she is talking about the impact on mobile search results only.
From Google, Zineb did not specifically confirmed the targeted number of queries to be suffered. It’s a general observation and it’s believe that about 45 – 60% searches are done using mobile phones.
